Algiers, May 1: Bouira, wilaya no.10 in Algeria, is one of the 48 multi-member electoral constituencies where elections would be conducted on May 7. With a total population of 695,583 inhabitants, the province constitutes a total of 9 seats in the Algerian legislative assembly. The electoral contest in Bouria is evenly poised between the National Front of Liberation (FLN), the National Democratic Rally (RND) and the Front for Socialist Forces (FFS).
In the 2012 Algerian legislative election, FLN won 4 out of the 9 seats contested, whereas, 3 were bagged by the RND. The remaining 2 seats were won by the FFS. For the upcoming polls, the three parties had indulged in extensive electioneering, campaigning across all the 45 communes of Bouira.
